Liverpool wanted to sign Thiago Alcantara says former manager Brendan Rodgers

The manager of Celtic Mr. Brendan Rodgers has tried to tempt the mid fielder to Anfield when he was in Barcelona and he was also very much impressed with the new signing of Nolito for Manchester city.

Mr. Brendan Rodgers has shown the effort to sign the Thiago Alcantara after he watched the midfielder at Barcelona.

On Tuesday he visited the club to watch game of the La Masiastarlates as in charge of the Chelsea’s youth team.

A Spain international player caught his eyes, who previously left Barcelona in 2013 to join Bayern Munich after he turned down advances of Manchester United. And as per Rodgers Liverpool was also in the mix for his signature.

“I’ve been coming for a number of years. I’ve always been a great lover of Barcelona and the structure of the club.

“The time I think Luis is referring to, I traveled out with my son, he was coming out for his 13th birthday. He is now 23!

“Nolito was playing in the youth team, [Jonathan] Soriano, the midfielder who signed for Bayern [ThiagoAlcantara]. I had hoped to try and get him to sign for Liverpool. It’s understandable he signed for Bayern.

“I’ve watched them over many years and I’m a lover of how the club operates and the values they have.”
